A new chapter in my life

As I mentioned in my previous post, I’ve had a few issue so I have started to create a new blog about my journey to discover a path in the jungle that is food intolerance, the blog will be my machetteĀ  in carving a path.

Storage bag

it’s been a while since i posted a pattern so here it is

a small storage bag , i needed something to keep my ear plugs and eye mask in during the day šŸ™‚

6mm hook, dk yarn (i used about 20g ), Button

i uses it for my ear plus and eye mask so i can find it without it getting lost

1) ch14
2) 12htr in front loop,2htr in end front loop and continue along the back loops of the front loops you’ve just crocheted ,make 2htr in last loop, sl st to 2nd ch.
3)ch2, 26tr , sl to 2nd ch (should look like a bit of a boat)
4) repeat row 3
5)ch2, tog 2sts (i used a tog2htr), tr till you get to the other side (about 11sts) , tog 2sts, tr till end and sl st to 2nd ch.
6) repeat row 5
7)ch3, 10tr,ch3 turn
8) tog2sts, 6tr,tog 1 sts and 2nd ch of 2ch , ch2 turn
9)tog2sts,3tr tog 1sts and 2nd ch of 2ch , ch1, turn
10) if you have enought yarn you can do a creative edging
once finished weave in the lose ends

Sew button on the middle of the pocket and fold flap over and fastenĀ  , you don’t need to create a button hole in the flap as it created with the treble stitch, dk yarn and 6mm hook šŸ™‚

1) cast on 46 sc on 1st handle ch1 turn
2) sc 46, ch1 turn
3) sc 46 fasten off
4) cast on 46 sc on 2nd handle ch1 turn
5) sc 46, ch1 turn
6) sc 46, ch3 turn
7) 46tr, ch3 turn
8) 46tr, ch3 turn
9) 46 tr, ch3 turn
10) 46 tr, ch3 turn
11) 46tr fasten off

12) pick up 2nd Handle
13)46tr, ch3 turn
14) 46 tr, ch3 turn
15) 46 tr, ch3 turn
16) 46tr fasten off
17) pick up 1st handle join with a ss,ch1 in same st, sc 45 across,Ā  ch20 ,join in 2nd handle ,Ā  ch20 join with ss in 1st stitch.
18) working in round tr all stitch ( no need to join at beginning)
19)put a marker at the beginning of the both 20ch and at the end of the bothĀ  20ch work
20) at each marker 2tog decrease, work for about 7 round.
i found doing the decrease went past the end of row so i continued until i got to a 2tog
21)10 tr, 2tog decrease , work round for 2round
22) 8tr, 2tog decrease
23) 6tr, 2tog decrease
24) 4tr, 2tog decrease
25) 2tr, 2tog decrease
26) repeat row 25 until about 14 sts left
27)fold the 14ss so 7st on either side and ss both side together.
28) turn and repeat row 27 until you have it secured and fasten off.

I used a 3.50mm needle and about DK weight (24g not sure about yardage at the moment) cotton but again i can’t see why you couldn’t uses a different yarn of similar weight)
2g of toy stuffing
few drops of essential oils or you favourite smelly herbs

1) ch16
2) sc in 1st ch from hook
3) sc 15 chain 1 turn
repeat row 3 till you get a square approx 15 times (10cm by 10cm approx)
4)fasten off
make two

5)place wrong sides together, start a worked side (the last row of sc you made).work the stitch though both squares.
6)*ch3, sc in to next sts* till corner, ch3 in the corner with a sc then ch3 in the corner again, work *ch3, sc in to next end of row* till corner, *ch3, sc in to next sts* till corner, ch3 in the corner with a sc then ch3 in the corner again, work *ch3, sc in to next end of row* till an inch from the end, (do not secure or cut ) fill with mixture,then continue *ch3, sc in to next end of row* till corner and then ch3 in to the same ch3 is in.

The mixture can be any dried herbs you like the smell of,Ā  just make sure the herb bits are not to small to fall though the wholes of the created fabric.

I used about 2g of toy stuffing and a few drops of tea tree oil, tea tree oil helps protect from moths and sliver fish.

I used a 4mm hook and about 25g (80meters) of Robin’s Double knit

Ch4 join in 1st ch with a ss
1st) ch3 15tr in to centreĀ  , join to 3rd ch with a ss
2nd) ch 3 1tr into same ch,1 tr in to next sts *2tr in to next sts, 1tr to next sts* rept from * to end , ss in to 3rd of 3ch
3rd) ch1, sc in to same sts, *2sc in to next sts*Ā  50sts
ss to ch1.
4th)ch1, sc in to same sts, *sc in to next sts* ss to ch1
5th )ch3 , 1tr in to same sts, *1tr to next sts* ss to ch3

14 more rounds , fasten off, Turn hat right side out.

I have used Pure cotton by Jaeger , but I can’t see any problem with using other yarns.

Crochet Carrier bag storage~ free Crochet Pattern (Beta)

Using 4mm hook and around 50g of Pure Cotton by Jaeger (112.5 meters) and Two Elastic bands.

Finished item with the plastic bags inside is approx 28cm by 21cm

Worked in British definition, you should now the following for this pattern

  1. Holding one Elastic band create 32dc
  2. ch3 , 1tr in each st ,ss in to 3rd chain of ch3
  3. ch3 *1tr in next st, 2tr in next st* repeat ** ss in to 3rd chain of ch3
  4. ch3 *1tr in next st, 1tr in next st, 2tr in next st* repeat ss in to 1st chain of ch3
  5. ch5 sk 2, dc in next st ss in to 1st chain of ch5
  6. (PM) *ch5 dc in to lp of next ch5* for 10 rows make sure the last row has only 21 loops
  7. ch3 * 4tr in each ch5 lp* until last lp , 3tr, ss in to 3rd chain of ch3
  8. ch3 * 1tr in next st, 1tr in next st, 2tr decrease in next st (htr decrease)* ss in to 1st chain of ch5
  9. ch3,*1tr in next st, 2tr decrease in next st (htr decrease)* ss in 1st chain of ch5
  10. ch3, *1tr in each st
  11. Ch1, dc in each st
  12. ch1, dc 44 st on to 2nd elastic band
  13. ch4 *dc in next st , ch3 * until last 2 stitch , dc in next stitch chain 45 , dc in next st, ch3 , ss in to 1st ch of ch4.

Fasten off and thread yarn and Fill with plastic bags

If you want a longer middle section repeat row 6 more time.
